Turtle Talks at Kure & Carolina Beach

Learn about local nesting sea turtles at the Kure Beach Ocean Front Park & Pavilion or at the Carolina Beach State Park visitor center from the experts from the Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project from 7 to 8 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays through August 31.

The Pleasure Island Sea Turtle Project is a 501(c)3 organization comprised of volunteers dedicated to the protection of all sea turtle species. During nesting season, May through October they patrol from the southern end of Kure Beach to the northern end (including Freeman Park) of Carolina Beach. Their mission is to ensure the preservation and protection of threatened and endangered sea turtles, working within federal and state guidelines.

Cost: Free. Locations: ocean Front Park & Pavilion, 105 Atlantic Ave., Kure Beach and Carolina Beach State Park visitor Center, 1010 State Park rd., Carolina Beach.
